👋

Hello and Welcome!

I’m Caralee Dill, the proud owner and founder of Senior Life Advisors, a geriatric care management company dedicated to helping seniors and families across Central New Jersey.

Thank you for stopping by! I wanted to use this very first blog post to introduce myself and share the heart behind why I started this business.

🌟

Where It All Began

I was born and raised in Freehold, NJ, with my two sisters and amazing parents. My very first job in high school was as a dietary aide in a Continuing Care Retirement Community in Freehold — and from the moment I stepped into that community, I was hooked.

I fell in love with senior care.

I learned so much just by listening to residents tell their stories. They inspired me, taught me life lessons, and gave me a sense of purpose. I became close with many of them — visiting even on my days off to help out however I could. Looking back, I realize now: that was the beginning of my calling.

🎓

From Finance to Elder Care

I went on to attend Rutgers University, majoring in Economics and Organizational Leadership. At the time, I thought I’d pursue a career in finance — maybe hedge fund investing. But even during internship interviews, I found myself talking passionately about my time as a dietary aide and my love for helping the elderly.

Nursing wasn’t for me at the time (the blood and wounds scared me — I’ve gotten over that now!), so I thought: “If I can’t be the nurse, maybe I can lead the team that provides the care.”

And so began my research into how to run a nursing home.

🏥

Stepping Into the Field

After graduation, I started working in Human Resources at the local hospital that also operated the same retirement community where I had worked in high school. One day, when a colleague was out sick, I stepped in to run new hire orientation — and that’s when I met the new Nursing Home Administrator.

She became my mentor and preceptor for the Administrator-in-Training (AIT) Program, which I completed while also earning my Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Seton Hall University.

After graduating, I passed my licensing exam and officially became a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.

💡

The Birth of Senior Life Advisors

While in the admissions office during my training, I had daily conversations with families who were emotional, overwhelmed, and completely lost in how to navigate senior care.

I saw a need — and I knew I could meet it.

That’s when the idea for Senior Life Advisors was born. At the time, I didn’t even know that Geriatric Care Management was an established profession — I just knew it was what I was meant to do.

👨‍👩‍👧

Life Today

I live in Allentown, NJ (yes, New Jersey — not Pennsylvania!) with my wonderful husband (who works in law enforcement), our three beautiful children — Christian, Nicholas, and Liliana — and our two dogs.

I’ve worked as a Nursing Home Administrator for several organizations, including many large for-profits, but I’m currently honored to work with a nonprofit that truly values person-centered care.

Every step of my journey has taught me something — and all of it has prepared me to lead Senior Life Advisors with heart, experience, and purpose.
